"From small dinghies in FremantleI progressed to yachts and sailed up and down the west coast ofAustralia. I then sailed from Hobart to Auckland in 2000 after theAmerica's Cup, then I travelled to the South of France." Colvin later began his professional career in style: "I sailed Endeavour(a three-masted, square-rigged sailing yacht that was the replica ofCook's yacht) from Australia to London for six months in what isliterally a floating museum, re-enacting the original voyage across theIndian Ocean to South Africa and the Atlantic." A stint as boat master atHayman Island Resort on the Great Barrier Reef was followed by anothertall-ship adventure, sailing the Indonesian waters aboard a replica ofDuyfken. Colvin then worked on Kingdom, Pestifer and Sai Ram beforejoining High Chaparral as first mate. He is now her captain. Colvin is theepitome of a modern professional yachtsman: trained, skilled andexperienced. He recently obtained his MCA Master (Yacht). Testing the toys on High Chaparral
