AUTUMN 2011I sea&iI99roundupmier superyacht regatta in the South Pacific. The event featuresa variety of harbour and passage races. Motoryachts are alsowelcome, with the schedule including a motoryacht race arounda set course. The 2012 edition of the Millennium Cup, held from15 to 18 February, will conveniently tie in with Auckland's VolvoOcean Race Stopover from 8 to 18 March 2012. www.millenniumcup.comThe 2012 regatta seriesNext year's busy regatta schedule will include a series of racesin the UK, to coincide with the London Olympics. Events will kickoff in May with the Rum Race, where participants take part inraces from Falmouth in Antigua to Falmouth in the UK. This willbe followed by the Westward Cup, held in Cowes, Isle ofWight, from 11 to 19 June. A J-Class regatta will then be hosted inFalmouth, UK from the 26 to 30 June, followed by the thirdedition of the Pendennis Cup, also in Falmouth, UK, from 2 to 7 July. A second J-Class Regatta (www.superyachtuk.com)will behosted in Cowes between the 16 and 21 July. Other regattas worth a mentioninclude a number of builderand designer-specific events. For example, The Dubois Cup(www.duboiscup.com)is a regatta for owners of Dubois-designed yachts, and precedes the Loro Piana SuperyachtRegatta, while the Perini Navi Cup (www.perininavi.it/it/perini-navi-cup) is created exclusively for the Perini Navi fleet. The 2011edition, held in September, will welcome 20 yachts from Perini's50-strong fleet to participate in three days of racing. This yearalso saw the inaugural Nespresso Cup, a regatta designed forthe Wally Yachts fleet.
