AUTUMN 2011 Isea&iI 9newsandviewsBoat International Media recently announced the finalists for the2011 ShowBoats Design Awards and CNI is delighted to reportthat a number of its yachts made it through to the final round. CNI finalists include the 56m (187'3) Panthalassa for the InteriorDesign Award - Sailing Yachts category; the 55.05m (180'7)Kahalani and the 45.6m (150'1) Illusion, both of which are in theInterior Design Award Displacement 30m-59.99m (98'-196'8)category; the 42.48m (138'8) Calliope in both the Interior DesignMotoryacht Semi Displacement category and the Exterior Design& Styling Award for Motoryachts category, as well as the NavalArchitecture Award for Motoryachts category, for which Kahalanihas also been nominated as a finalist; and the 43m (141') Clear Eyesin the Naval Architecture Award Sailing Yachts category.The winners will be announced - along with the Young Designerof the Year finalist, sponsored by CNI - on the 25 October at theShowboats Design Awards ceremony, which will take place at theMar-a-Lago Club, Palm Beach, Florida.SHOWBOATS DESIGN AWARDS

10Isea&iIAUTUMN 2011CNI once again sponsored the LoroPiana Superyacht Regatta inSardinia this summer. The event, which isattended by owners, is hosted each year bythe Yacht Club Costa Smeralda and BoatInternational Media, along with mainsponsors Loro Piana.Due to strong winds of 30 knots plus,racing only took place on two of the fourdays. Victorious in the Performance Divisionwas Highland Fling: Irvine Laidlaw's world-class yacht. Highland Fling also took theevent's overall prize, The Silver Jubilee Cup.In the Cruising Division, Harry Macklowesailed Unfurled to victory - furtherenhaching the impressive track record ofthis fantastic racing yacht. Next year's event is due to take place inearly June, while its sister event will be heldin Virgin Gorda in the Caribbean nextMarch, so racing fans should ensure bothevents are in their diary for 2012.LORO PIANA SUPERYACHT REGATTA 2011IllusionCNI expands in the USA CNI increased its presence in the US thisautumn by opening another office on the EastCoast. The launch of this new office marks thecontinued expansion, success and growth ofCNI, which now has ten offices located atleading yachting centres around the world.The Miami office will primarily deal withyacht brokerage, and will have three expertsales brokers offering clients CNI's renownedservices and expertise.
