The booked conference business means 123,000 room nights for the city. Of this, life science meetings comprise the largest category, with 38,000 room nights in 2010. Executive vice- president of the PCVB, Jack Ferguson, says: " An expanded Pennsylvania Convention Centre is going to take Philadelphia to a whole new level." IRELAND- Organiser of the 2010 Annual European Airfinance Conference in Dublin has hailed the event as the largest of its kind in Europe, with a record attendance of 740 aviation professionals. Attracting airline CEOs, banks, aircraft and engine leasing companies and manufacturers and export credit agencies, the two- day conference is organised by trade publication Airfinance Journaland Euromoney Seminars. Conference speakers included VP and GM of Aircraft Financial Services for Boeing Capital Corporation, Scott Scherer, and Ryanair CFO Howard Millar. Santa Monica eyes UK USA - The Santa Monica Convention and Visitors Bureau ( SMCVB) has signed an agreement with UK representation agency Black Diamond to promote the US city to the UK meetings industry market. The app will also show meeting facilities, weather information, live traffic reports, nearby restaurants and even currency conversion for international visitors. WORLD- HPN Global, the international meetings brand set to launch on 1 March, has signed 80 associates, its vice-president EMEA and India, Kip Horton, tells CMW. The new company, a joint venture between North American based Hospitality Performance Network ( HPN) and Meetings International, will take meetings procurement, venue finding and destination management into Europe and Asia. Alliance chair and CEO of Puerto Rico CB Ana Maria Viscasillas, says a survey by LJR, found planners rated the BestCities bureau experience as 9.59 on a scale of 1- 10. Wonderful Copenhagen's Steen Jakobsen, says: " Being a member of the Alliance accounts for a considerable amount of the convention business we book".
