TCEB President Akapol Sorasuchart said the wins represented a rapid return to growth for Thailand's international meetings market following the financial crises in Europe and USA, and the impact of the floods in Thai provinces. "The international meetings market last year generated earnings of 22.5bn baht, with 270,000 visitors," said Sorasuchart. This represented 38 per cent of the overall MICE market and is valued at 58bn baht. The TCEB expects the market will grow by five per cent in 2012, with 290,000 visitors.
