IOEX - 6-8 March 2012Taking place alongside International Confex, International Outdoor Event Expo (IOEX) will offer an international showcase dedicated to the innovative live event production and technology industry. IOEX is supported by industry associations Eventia, PSA, NOEA and ESSA, Association DayAssociation Day provides a stream of high-level seminars and networking opportunities for both UK and international associations. The programme supported by ICCA, consists of two plenary sessions and a choice from 10 round table workshops. The Association Day programme aims to attract 80 associations who will also attend the show to meet with exhibitors. Local Authority Conference In recognition of the vast number of events local authorities are responsible for organising up and down the country, International Confex has this year developed a conference targeted at local authority personnel. Endorsed by the Local Authority Event Organisers Group (LOAG), the seminar programme will review the concerns behind public sector events including the scale, cost, environmental effects, as well as health and safety issues. The programme will include presentations, case study examples and panel discussions.PA DayBeauty entrepreneur Jo Malone will unveil a dedicated PA Day. Delivered in association with Castalia Coaching and Training, it will offer a tailored educational programme.Awards Programme Following on from a series of focus group sessions with awards organisers, the International Confex team said it became apparent that there was a real expressed need and desire to offer specific and relevant educational content for this niche sector within the meetings and events industry. It was also evident that there was a need to create a community and network where specialist awards organisers could connect with their peers to learn and share best practices. There will also be opportunities for organisers to meet with suppliers.Student Day: The Future is You Student Day returns to Confex for 2012. Dedicated to fi nal year event management students, The Future is You conference is aimed at students embarking on a career in the events industry. They will receive practical advice from industry experts on jobs and career development and gain insights from industry insiders. Exclusive to just 250 students, the Student Day content will take place off the show fl oor. Virtual and Hybrid Event Conference A conference for event managers, directors and marketing and conference professionals, 'Developing virtual and hybrid events for the events industry' will highlight opportunities to integrate virtual into your business and offer advice on up-to-date technical, marketing and engagement strategies.
