The club plans to redevelop the site into a 60,000 capacity stadium, according to a statement on its website. The statement said: "Battersea Power Station is one of London's most famous buildings and has the potential to become one of the most iconic football stadiums in the world. "We are not the only interested party and there is no certainty that we will be successful. We also appreciate that we have many signifi cant hurdles to address if we are to build a new stadium on the site."Working with architects and planning experts, Chelsea has developed a plan to preserve all the signifi cant aspects of Battersea Power Station. The four iconic chimneys and wash towers, along with the Grade II listed west turbine hall and control room will be restored and retained in their original locations. The nfp events exhibition will take place on 25 September 2012 at the Business Design Centre and will run alongside the nfp technology show.The event will be geared towards event managers in the not-for-profi t sectors, and is looking to attract up to 500 delegates, and 30 exhibitors. A further 30 exhibitors are expected for the technology show and planned seminar topics include: generating revenue from your conference, setting up a sporting challenge, crowd control and compliance, negotiating with suppliers, social media events marketing and risk and insurance issues. Exhibitors will include charity challenge event suppliers, professional conference planning agencies, venues, caterers, signage contractors and insurance brokers.
