The rankings profi le meetings organised by international associations which take place on a regular basis and which rotate between a minimum of three countries.In London's Olympic year its status in the rankings means more positivity for the capital's meetings market. Up the ranks The 2011 International Congress and Convention Association (ICCA) global rankings were published in May. Vikki Carley reports on the resultsLondon was the biggest climber in the top 20 city rankings, moving from 14th place to seventh with 115 qualifying meetings. Vienna retained its number one status in the city rankings, and following it Paris overtook Barcelona in the second and third place battle. Beijing led the way among the fast growing BRIC destinations by climbing from 12th to 10th place.In the country rankings the top 10 countries showed little change, with the top six repeating their rankings, led by the USA, Germany and Spain.
