Dealers were given the opportunity to visit the facility and take a look at the latest products from the brands. Hopefully the show was a cymbal of growth in the industry. Everybody's gone Surfin' USAThe Beach Boys certainly knew what they were talking about when they sang the famous summer hit Surfin' USA. But even in the grip of midwinter, the Surf Expo in Orlando, Florida, attracted thousands of retailers and exhibitors to view the upcoming collections and new releases of board and action sports innovations.More than 14,000 retailers had a chance to view 2,500 brands at the trade show. "Our show was bursting at the seams with exhibitors and buyers - all in a positive mood and doing business on the floor," said Roy Turner, show director for Surf Expo. "From the minute we opened the doors until the The aVN adult entertainment expo 2012 had a bumper turnout during its four-day stint at the Hard Rock Hotel and casino in Las Vegas, Nevada.Visitors were able to get a look at the cutting-edge technology behind some of the most innovative sex toys and novelties available. Trade registration included the aVN Novelty expo (aNe), a trade expo for pleasure products; the aee Trade Show; and for the first time, the aee Fan Fest, giving fans exclusive access to the industry and its participants."This show was one of our best ever," said aVN ceO Theo Sapoutzis. "The feedback from the fans and media was overwhelmingly positive and you could just feel the excitement each day."Jincey Lumpkin, chief sexy officer of Juicy pink box, an (ahem) media production firm, said: "The aee Trade Show was more intimate this year, where I had quality time with my fans, which I loved. I also did more than double the amount of media interviews. Hard Rock was so much more manageable, the whole vibe was more relaxed, so it was actually fun to do business."ADuLT STARSshow closing, there was an energy that I haven't seen in years. "The positive vibe at Surf Expo shows an industry headed in the right direction as it continues to rebound after the recession," he added. One can then imagine he donned a wetsuit and launched himself into the frothing surf. Piggy went to marketThe Illinois Pork Expo featured some meaty seminar topics as part of its programme this year. The show, sponsored by the Illinois Pork Producers Association, ran on 31 January - 1 February at the Four Points by Sheraton hotel in Peoria and the Peoria Civic Center and featured a motivational speech from Emery Moorehead, a member of the Chicago Bears 1985 Super Bowl champion team. You may have thought the beginning of the calendar year is several months too early to be making plans for Halloween. Not so for the thousands of visitors to the Halloween and party expo held at the george R brown convention center in Houston, Texas in January. 55,740sqm of exhibition, education and performance space was used to highlight the industry's top retailers in Halloween, party and Sexy costume. The show also featured a style show and an education/demo centre. Sounded like high-spirited fun.SpOOky STARTMuSic HiTThe show included presentations on joint infections in showpigs and drug residue testing for exhibitions. But if you think those topics didn't mince words, consider last year's show which included 'Alternative Castration Techniques: Immuno or Chemical Castration; a review of the current literature and experiences from other countries' by Dr Rob Knox from the University of Illinois. Ouch.Ricoh show had the X Factor:The X Factor star Olly Murs was an added attraction at the latest Trade Only National Show at Ricoh arena. The singer performed at the annual british promotional Merchandise association's annual awards dinner, held alongside the trade show.
