In a comparison of source code from websites designed by Showplans and MyWorldOfExpo, sighted by EN, Showplans outlined examples where its code and company details have allegedly been replicated by MyWorldOfExpo including a web developer's name, two of the company's contracted shows and its terms and conditions. MD Adam Jones alleged as many as 11 show websites by MyWorldOfExpo have been built including its code."Organisers have a responsibility not to use companies that break copyright laws and ignore the intellectual property of other companies," Jones told EN. "In a small industry, companies that copy slow down the evolution of technology, stifl ing the companies with the skills and vision to push boundaries."ASP also alleges to have had its creative copyright repeatedly infringed by MyWorldOfExpo and previously engaged a legal team to investigate its rights. ASP MD Arran Coole called for the industry to do more to prevent such infringement practices occurring."What disturbed us most when this happened was that the head of a large organising company - which we lost to MyWorldOfExpo in a single supplier bid - accused us of being 'bad sports' and trying to hassle their new supplier," Coole said.
