The payout follows a contract dispute with two former company executives. Construction exhibition organiser ordered to pay Texas executives US$ 2.9m JAMAICA - Jamaica hopes to break into the corporate events industry with the opening of a new exhibition and conference venue in Montego Bay. The Montego Bay Convention Centre will hold up to 6,000 people and include 4,800sqm of exhibition space, 2,000sqm of banqueting space and 1,000sqm of meeting rooms. " The convention centre will be part of the critical infrastructure necessary to New Montego Bay venue to hold 6,000 facilitate the repositioning of Jamaica as an events destination in the global tourism market," says Jamaica's minister of tourism, Edmund Bartlett. The completion date is meant to coincide with the beginning of the 2010 winter tourist season. Official talks between the Chinese PM Wen Jiabao and his Bangladeshi counterpart, Sheikh Hasina, have been hailed as a " breakthrough in bilateral relations between two global economies", and will see China provide funding grants for several construction projects including a ' Chinese Exhibition Centre'. China sponsors new Bangladesh venue In a Memorandum of Understanding ( MoU), China outlined its commitment to assisting Bangladesh in infrastructure development projects, including building road and rail infrastructure to connect Myanmar to the region, construction of the eighth Bangladesh- China Friendship Bridge and a water purification project. China will also allow duty- free imports of Bangladeshi products. Canada - DMG World Media has sold two of its gift shows to a Canadian trade association.
