The event was sponsored by web development company ASP and kicked off with the fi rst ever Mash Media Question Time, a forum run by Exhibition World's sister UK publication, Exhibition News. This was followed by a champagne reception, three-course meal and an afternoon of racing with, as you can see from these pictures, mixed success.A key element of the event was the Question Time panel, which debated how organisers can increase and sustain visitor numbers. This allowed industry representatives to come together and share their experiences of visitor retention at a trade and consumer show level, as well as discuss emerging tools and trends infl uencing the perception of exhibitions today and into the future. BUENOS AIRES, ARGENTINA, 9-11 AUGUST Argentina welcomes the 10th annual AFIDA and AOCA congressAFIDA, the Latin American association of organisers of international events and tourism meetings, together with the 10th Argentinean Meeting Destinations Forum, held its annual congress in August, themed 'The Exhibitions and Events Industry of the Future'.More than 250 international companies interested in the Latin American exhibition and events market came together to share views on best practice and network, doing a little business while enjoying Buenos Aires and its surroundings. Whether attending as an exhibitor, visitor or hosted buyer, AFIDA established the event to help its members better understand the factors that lead to an ideal exhibition. The event featured an international exhibition and academic congress, hosted buyer programme and best practice sessions, and most importantly a healthy dose of networking and social activities.Photography courtesy of La Rural, Predio Ferial and Paul Woodward.GALLERYIssue 8 | 2011 www.94exhibition-world.net |
