In southern Lithuania, not far from the famous Druskininkai resort, there is a unique outdoor exhibition of monuments from Soviet times. LITHUANIA MINOR ( MAZOJI LIETUVA) CURONIAN SPIT NATIONAL PARK LITHUANIA A NEW DISCOVERY Lithuanian book, the  rst Lithuanian grammar, and the  rst book of collected songs were printed here. The most archaic part of the land's heritage is represented by wooden folk architecture. Houses are distinguished by impressive decorations such as ornamentally carved weathervanes. and Juodkrante. A pedestrian and bicycle path along the lagoon runs past  shermen's houses converted into summer holiday homes. The Nobel Prize- winning writer, Thomas Mann ( 1875- 1955) was so fascinated by " the fantastic world of wandering sand dunes" that he bought a summer house and spent three summers there.
