Visitors are always looking for that elusive place "where the locals go" and for 25 years the Sand Bar has defi nitely been one of those places. It may not be the easiest restaurant to fi nd, hidden as it is behind Walker's Marine just off Bald Eagle Drive, but it is defi nitely worth the search. Consistent quality at reasonable prices... all day, every dayA sports bar could not survive for 25 years on Marco Island if it didn't serve good food at a reasonable price, and that is exactly what the Sand Bar is famous for from 7am-2am, 365 days a year. Ray Fortune has owned and operated it for the last seven years and has continued, and expanded, the unique tradition of a family-friendly sports bar which offers something for everyone. Ray knows as well as anyone that it's tough to run a business in a seasonal place like Marco where visitors come and go and a large part of the local population leave for the summer. He believes that appealing to the full time residents is a crucial part of his recipe for success so he keeps his prices low, his quality consistent and the atmosphere relaxed and friendly. At any time of day, you'll fi nd a good mix of locals and tourists, young and old, families and singles enjoying the food, drinks and games.Breakfast, lunch or dinnerBreakfast, served daily starting at 7am, is very popular especially at the weekends, with regulars coming back time and again for their standard fare. The added advantage here is you can wash it down with a bloody Mary, mimosa or margarita, if that is your poison. Ray says that they have a regular crowd of night workers who come in for their "dinner" and a beer or glass of wine before going home to bed. There are lunch and dinner specials every day to add to a very varied regular menu. Their high volume of customers allows the Sand Bar to offer great prices on everything from happy hour

drinks to their famous 10oz fi sh platter and regular specials like their surf & turf, which consists of a quality 9oz fi let steak and a 5oz lobster tail at an incredibly low price.Consistent kitchen and wait staff In these diffi cult economic times, everyone is looking for value for money and consistency. Ray has achieved both by keeping the same kitchen staff since he took over back in 2004 and his long serving team of family-like staff get to know their customers and look forward to welcoming them back year after year. Surrounded by Tvs and generator equippedThe Sand Bar is also proud to say that it covers every sporting event available on its 40 HD televisions, eleven of which are 55". They are now the only sports bar in Collier County to offer portable table speakers so you can actu-ally listen to the game you're watching. And, if by any chance the power should fail during a storm this sum-mer, the Sand Bar is one of the few restaurants on Marco that is generator equipped so it never has to close.Beer pong or goldfi sh races anyone?Always trying to come up with something different to enter-tain its customers, the Sand Bar has a wide selection of games for every age group.... from regular NTN trivia, arcade games and pool to the not so regular beer pong and, most certainly out of the ordinary, goldfi sh races! Beer pong is held every Saturday night at 10pm and, with computerized scoring, it can attract up to 27 teams of locals and visitors. The incentive of cash and gift certifi cate prizes can make it really competitive and very entertaining. Goldfi sh races are not held so often but they are equally as popular. If you've never seen it, two lengths of gutter are placed side by side and fi lled with water. Each "jockey" buys a goldfi sh for $5 and gives it a name. Then all sorts of encouragement, including using squirt guns, is given to the fi sh to be the fi rst passed the winning line. Certainly not a run of the mill bar game, it's a lot of fun, and always attracts a good crowd. And, if you need some help getting in the goldfi sh racing mood, or any other mood for that matter, the newly introduced souvenir fi sh bowls, fi lled with 46oz of deliciousness, with great fl avors like Blue Lagoon and Wild-berry Margarita and Very Berry Spiked Lemonade, should do the trick!"You catch it - we'll cook it"Don't forget to use one of the coupons in our coupon section to make it even better value, and keep in mind that they have a "you catch it - we'll cook it" policy when it comes to fi sh... they'll prepare your catch any way you like... but please remember this service does not apply to their goldfi sh!The Sand Bar may not actually be on the beach as its name might imply, but it more than makes up for that by consistently providing good quality, great value food in a casual and comfortable atmosphere with plenty of fun and games to keep everyone happy. It is located at 826 East Elkcam Circle, behind Walker's Marine. 239.642.3625
