Isle of Man DFAS recently awarded two young artists a £250 bursary each and later found the story covered by the local BBC news website. Isle of Man DFAS member Helen Leigh, together with the local Department of Education, managed to bring the story of bursary winners Alex Beadle and Tamara Halsall to the attention of the local BBC. The article highlighted NADFAS's activities, including its Young Arts and heritage conservation remit, and can be viewed at the following link: http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-europe-isle-of-man-16699221The online coverage follows Culture Secretary Jeremy Hunt's recent enthusiastic tweet for NADFAS in which he held the Association up as a "great example of the power of volunteering in the arts".NADFAS's presence on online and social media sites, including Twitter and Facebook, continues to grow. Follow www.twitter/NADFAS or search 'NADFAS' on www.facebook.com.
