CECILHEALY Australia's Cecil Healy was favourite for themen's 100m freestyle after the UnitedStates' team arrived late and missed theirsemi-final heat at the 1912 Games inStockholm. Healy asked that they be givenanother chance and Duke Kahanamoku,the great Hawaiian swimmer, went on topip Healy to the gold medal.
