I'm originally from Connecticut, but we've been living in London since October. The build-up to the Games has been really exciting and we were really happy to get some tickets. We went to watch some of the swimming and it was amazing to see Michael Phelps and Ryan Lochte - they were really putting on a show for the crowd. It was really exciting inside the venue - it seemed like everyone was cheering for everyone else, no matter which country they were from. Whatever chants started, everyone else just joined in. The cycling road race went by our apartment as well, which was pretty awesome. Everyone here seems to have been really fired up about the Games.Fan from USAPat Rodgers"Everyone was cheering for everyone else, no matter where they were from"46 OLYMPIC REVIEW LONDON 2012

We wanted to come to London because we love sports and it's so close to home for us; it's the perfect opportunity to experience the Games. We're really enjoying it, especially the atmosphere here in the Olympic Park. The facilities are amazing, the stadiums look great - even the weather is not as bad as we were expecting! The crowds have been really good and the atmosphere has been amazing so we're really loving it. We've been to see some of the hockey matches and we're going to see some of the road races as well, which you don't need tickets for. Everyone seems to be having a great time and the venues are fantastic.I'm originally from the Philippines but now I'm living in London. When I found out London was hosting the Games, I decided I wanted to volunteer because I thought it would be a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. I wanted to have a summer to remember from my time in London. I was really happy when I found out I had been selected because it meant that I would be part of history. I've been working in the Basketball Arena and the highlight for me was when Michelle Obama came in to watch the USA's match against France. I got to greet her and say hello, which was amazing. I've also met athletes such as Kelly Holmes, so that's been great as well. Everyone seems to be enjoying it and it's been very cool to meet people from all over the world. Even the team that I'm in, there are people from lots of different countries. It's very exciting to work with people from other cultures.Spanish fanEduardo QuemadaVolunteerJayces GarelloAustralian fanSarah de Young"We're really enjoying it, especially the atmosphere here in the Olympic Park. I knew some people from Greece who volunteered when Athens hosted the Games in 2004 and they said what a wonderful time they had, so I decided to volunteer as soon as we won the bid. It's been brilliant meeting people from all over the world and I've even started to recognise all the different flags. They're all enjoying it and the enthusiasm rubs off on everyone.
