Going Green 14 9.30 - 9.50 Coffee and ‘environmental lottery’ networking game 9.50 - 10.50 Audio-visual introduction and expert Q&A An environmental expert outlines the problems facing the Earth, and guests view a video compilation on the science behind climate change. After the screening, guests are separated into teams. Led by a facilitator and the environmental expert, guests learn about specific ways in which they can start to make a positive difference, as well as discussing questions raised by the video. 10.50 - 11.10 Challenge briefing and role allocation The teams are challenged to produce their own climate change ‘call to action video’. Mission packs and storyboards given to the teams provide a foundation to begin the challenge, and there is an assignment of different job roles, including researcher, producer, director, scriptwriter and camera person as well as actors. 11.10 - 13.30 Research, planning, scripting and film making skills - with working lunch. This session includes researching and writing the content for the teams’ films using an ‘environmental library’ of internet, literary and expert sources provided.
