The 8th edition of the IOC World Conference on Sport, Education and Culture will be held in Amsterdam, the Netherlands, later this year. The IOC, in partnership with the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organisation (UNESCO) and in There will be an additional Grand Prize winner for the IOC's "Show Your Best" initiative - a global campaign and video competition to help build involvement with the Olympic Movement among young people and create the next generation of Olympic fans.Since the campaign launched in November 2011, there have been hundreds of submissions from more than 50 countries around the world, while over 13,000 people have voted for their favourite videos. In the campaign, people are encouraged to record videos of themselves demonstrating their personal best. Videos submitted are judged by Olympic athletes and the Grand Prize winner will win a trip for two to London as guests of the IOC for the London 2012 Summer Games. Submissions are judged on how well the video represents the Olympic values; how well it demonstrates the idea of AMSTERDAM TO HOST 8TH IOC WORLD CONFERENCE'SHOW YOUR BEST' CAMPAIGN ADDS NEW PRIZEAbove American Ryan Celestain was announced as the first winner of the IOC's 'Show Your Best' initiativecollaboration with the National Olympic Committee of the Netherlands, will host the event, which will highlight the importance of sport as a vehicle for social and economic development within the context of a sporting, educational and cultural framework. The theme of the Conference will draw on the value of sport in the broader forums of its societal impact, with emphasis on the role of family and local structures, and will focus on the UN Year of International Cooperatives, Energy for All and the Decade for Sustainable Education. The IOC has launched a new online community to increase engagement between Olympic fans worldwide and Olympic athletes.The Olympic Athletes' Hub ( is a searchable directory of Olympians that provides posts from their Facebook and Twitter accounts and other information designed to connect people with their favourite athletes. Fans can also unlock secret training tips from Olympic legends such as Nadia Comaneci, Edwin Moses or Yelena Isinbaeva.The more athletes that users "like" on Facebook or follow on Twitter through the site, the more points they receive, accumulating prizes such as virtual gold, silver and bronze medals.During the London 2012 Olympic Games, a special section will be created on the Hub where users can view what the athletes competing at the Games are saying on social media sites.
