The British Olympic Association (BOA) have announced plans to build an Olympic Museum within the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park as a permanent legacy of London 2012. It is hoped that the museum, which will be situated next to the Orbit Tower landmark, will be completed by 2014. IOC President Jacques Rogge approved of the plans and added: "I am a firm believer that the Olympic Games are not only about gold medals, world records and unforgettable sporting competition. They can bring out the best of humanity and all that we can achieve when we strive to be the best at something. "The new British Olympic Museum is the place where these stories of human triumph and sacrifice will come to life and it will become part of the lasting legacy that London 2012 will leave the UK for generations to come." The Brazilian Olympic Committee (BOC) opened an Artistic Gymnastics Training Centre in Rio de Janeiro in April. Based on models used in other countries, the facilities boast approximately 100 state-of-the-art pieces of equipment, which place them among the best in the world for gymnastics. "I am proud to be opening a training centre of such a high quality as this," said Carlos Arthur Nuzman, BOC President.
