1- NEW MATCHMAKING SITE FOR PET LOVERS Have you ever gone out with someone who didn't care for your pets or share your same degree of passion for them? If you're single and seeking to meet someone who is as into pets as you are, log onto www. Pet- Lover. biz. The site boasts a unique love calculator called SuperMatch, which matches members who have the most compatible personalities, sex drives, interests and star signs. Just complete three simple and short love tests for sexual compatibility ( SexualityMatch), per-sonality compatibility ( Soul Match) and interests compatibility ( SelectMatch). Sign compatibility ( StarSignMatch) is calculated automatically from your birth date. Then simply log in to your own homepage, where you will find the profiles of other members who offer the highest percentage compatibility for each of the four areas, and the highest percentage compatibil-ity overall. Members can also browse, finding other members whose profiles they like, then checking out their SuperMatch rating before deciding to contact them. SelectMatch additionally provides members with favourite pet compatibility so, for example, a member who loves cats can find other members who also love cats. The site is multilingual which means that, in addition to all English- speaking pet lovers, those whose native languages are Chinese, Spanish, German, Italian or Turkish will be able to join too, with Portuguese and French to be added soon! Members will be offered translations, so language won't be a barrier to finding love on this site. Members can take advantage of a wide variety of communication tools including video, voice direct, online chat, SMS messaging, VOIP, email and Phone 2Phone, so they can contact other members using the method that suits them best. www. pet- lover. biz REPORTMARISACUTILLAS lilly's pet news " Scratch a dog and you'll find a permanent job…" essentialmagazine FRANKLIN P. JONES Contact 2- IS YOUR PET CUTE ENOUGH TOCLONE? If, like me, you are extremely attached to your pooch and could-n't bear to lose your four- legged friend, you may be interested in the very latest trend: dog cloning. For a cool € 96.000, Korean com-pany RNL Bio will help you ' have the same dog over and over again'. In fact, it is claimed that Korean scientists have already successfully cloned a canine called ' Snuppy'. One woman, who lost her beloved pitbull recently, had tissue taken from his ear before he passed away and, if all goes as planned, hewill also be cloned byRNL in the near future. Another pup who is about to undergo the honours is Trakr, a German Shepherd who located the last human survivor buried under metres of rubble on the siteof the 9- 11 attacks. High- tech American company, BioArts International, held a competition offer-ing owners the chance toclone their pet. Trackr was deemed the most worthy pet and, soon, his DNA will be sent to Korea for the pro-cedure. The new ' clone'is set for birth within one year. 3- 13 HORSES RESCUED BY THE NERJA DONKEY SANCTUARY The Nerja Donkey Sanctuary, home to 50 abandoned dogs and cats, 16 donkeys, three mules and terminally ill or permanent- care horses, recently received an SOS from a caller asking, " There are 13 horses in a shelter that has run out of money and will close in two weeks… can you take the hors-es?" The Sanctuary was, as most animal shelters are, simply full to the brim, but agreed to help. As luck would have it a Good Samaritan, Genna of Los Tejanos Equestrian Centre in Frigiliana, heard about the horses and offered to provide accommodation for all of them, without even seeing them. The horses havealready been cared for by a vet and a farrier, who sorted out their overgrown hooves, but Genna desperately needs help from volun-teers who are interested in exercising the horses or providing any kind of riding equipment. The Nerja DonkeySanctuary, meanwhile, is also in need of help; you can either sponsor an animal or, better still, adopt one or sim-ply makeasmall donation. The Sanctuary runs up a € 2.800 bill monthly and needs medicines and volunteer assistance. For further information, Tel: 664 558 133. www. donkeyaid. com 2 3 1 Contact 167
