The emphasis of the week is on getting you prepared for both theInstructor course and the Pre-Entry Assessment. During the course you will be covering advanced sailing and the skills required for pre-entry assessment on the water and upgrading and consolidating your theory and background knowledge off the water. The week will conclude on the Friday with the Pre-Entry Assessment.Instructor Preparation Week 5 days (Mon-Fri) Course Code: PWRYA Dinghy Instructor (16+) Our very popular 5-day RYA Dinghy Instructor course teaches you the RYA method, the structure of the RYA and how to teach sailing. An RYA Dinghy Instructor qualification is highly valued and is recognized as the industry standard for employment at watersports centres and holiday organizations both here in the UK and overseas. This means it is a very useful enhancement to your cv, especially if you wish to travel and work during a Gap Year or Career Break. The course is run by an RYA Coach Assessor and is moderated on the final day by a second RYA Coach Assessor. Prior to the course students must have passed the RYA Pre-Entry Assessment, RYA Powerboat Level 2 and hold a recognised First Aid certificate.RYA Dinghy Instructor 5 days (Mon-Fri) Course Code: IN We recommend for those attending the RYA Dinghy Instructor Course that you purchase a copy of the G14 logbook - your essential guide during the course.RYA Dinghy Instructor Pre-Entry Sailing Assessment (16+)An RYA pre-requisite for the Dinghy Instructor course is that all candidates have to pass a pre-entry sailing assessment, conducted by an RYA Coach Assessor. Sailing skills such as man overboard, sailing tight circles, sailing a triangular course and sailing a follow-my-leader course will be assessed to advanced sailing level standard. Successful completion will enable the student to join the RYA Dinghy Instructor course. Held over two days, we offer the first day as a training day to brush up on skills and familiarise yourself with the equipment and sailing area in preparation for the assessment on the second day. We also offer the assessment only as a one-day course. 20www.rockleywatersports.com 01202 677 272School & Group Activity Trips 2011* Option to extend to a 5-day courseRYA Senior Instructor (18+) This 4-day course covers preparation and delivery of sessions, course and centre management, powerboat handling in a teaching environment, RYA Sailing Schemes and the role of a Senior Instructor. Students will be assessed on a continual basis over the 4 days when running water-based simulated group management sessions. You will also be asked to demonstrate that you have sailing ability to Pre-Entry Assessment standard. Prior to the course students must have had two years intermittent or one year full time dinghy instructing experience. RYA Safety Boat and a valid First Aid certificate are required for this course. RYA Dinghy Instructor Packages (16+) Our 10-day and 13-day fast-track courses enable students to gain all the necessary pre-requisites, as well as the RYA Dinghy Instructor course. The 10-day course covers the RYA Powerboat Level 2 certificate, Pre-Entry Training and Assessment, RYA First Aid and RYA Dinghy Instructor course.
