page 50 01202 677 272School & Group Activity Trips 2011* Option to extend to a 5-day courseRYA Senior Instructor (18+) This 4-day course covers preparation and delivery of sessions, course and centre management, powerboat handling in a teaching environment, RYA Sailing Schemes and the role of a Senior Instructor. Students will be assessed on a continual basis over the 4 days when running water-based simulated group management sessions. You will also be asked to demonstrate that you have sailing ability to Pre-Entry Assessment standard. Prior to the course students must have had two years intermittent or one year full time dinghy instructing experience. RYA Safety Boat and a valid First Aid certificate are required for this course. RYA Dinghy Instructor Packages (16+) Our 10-day and 13-day fast-track courses enable students to gain all the necessary pre-requisites, as well as the RYA Dinghy Instructor course. The 10-day course covers the RYA Powerboat Level 2 certificate, Pre-Entry Training and Assessment, RYA First Aid and RYA Dinghy Instructor course. The 13-day course covers the Instructor Preparation week (including Pre-Entry Assessment), RYA Powerboat Level 2 certificate, RYA Dinghy Instructor course and RYA First Aid. Please note these courses also include full board accommodation. RYA Advanced Instructor 2 days (Sat-Sun) Course Code: IARYA Racing Instructor (16+)The RYA Racing Instructor qualification enables experienced dinghy instructors, with a passion for racing, to develop skills and techniques required to teach the RYA Start Racing module. Candidates need to have completed a minimum of 8 club races and have assisted the club race officer.RYA Racing Instructor 2 days (Mon-Tue) Course Code: IR 01202 677 272RYA Start Windsurfing Instructor (16+) This ever-popular 5-day course is for competent windsurfers who are looking to teach the Start Windsurfing course and the Youth Windsurfing Scheme. Students should be at Intermediate non-planing standard and hold the RYA Powerboat Level 2 certificate and a valid First Aid certificate. RYA Start Windsurfing Instructor 5 days (Mon-Fri) Course Code: SWRYA Powerboat Instructor (16+) This 3-day course trains you in the various techniques and teaching methods required to instruct the RYA Level 1 and 2 syllabus and is run by an RYA Powerboat Trainer. All students will run a number of sessions to develop personal skills and teaching ability. To qualify for this course you will need to hold the RYA Powerboat Level 2 certificate, several seasons of powerboating experience and hold a valid First Aid certificate. Please note ALL candidates will have to pass a pre-course skills assessment which is an assessment of personal boat handling skills. We run this course the day before the Powerboat Instructor Course, however please ensure you are at the relevant standard prior to booking.
