OdomLaura RomanLinda RoodCo-chairs Roseann Williams and Donna Danielsach year during the month of September, the ECHN Community Healthcare Foundation kicks off our annual campaign to involve all ECHN employees in philanthropy toward ECHN. The Employee Campaign Committee determines a theme for the upcoming year.Employees may participate in the Employee Campaign by making a direct donation, making a donation through payroll deduction or donating paid leave time. Donations can be made in support of designated programs and facilities or as an unrestricted gift to serve the greatest needs of our patients.Employee donations help uninsured and underinsured patients get the care they need, provide continuing education for nurses, enable the purchase of new technology, help offset costs for hospital renovations, and assist employees and their families that experience a financial crisis through the Employee Care Fund.During fiscal year 2011, 372 employees donated over $320,000 through cash gifts, payroll deductions, and paid leave time. There were 93 first-time employee donors during the fiscal year.In September, ice cream socials were held at Manchester Memorial and Rockville General hospitals and Woodlake at Tolland to express ECHN's appreciation for employee involvement. The ice cream was generously donated by Royal Ice Cream in Manchester, and the toppings were graciously provided by our hospitals' Food Service departments. For employees who were unable to leave their work area to attend the socials, as well as off-site facilities and night-shift employees, campaign committee members and other volunteers hand-delivered the ice cream.31

he Heritage Society was created to recognize those individuals who, in the spirit of our communities' founding families, have provided for the future of Eastern Connecticut Health Network through their Estate Plans by making ECHN the beneficiary of a Will Bequest, Retirement Plan Designation, Life Insurance or Charitable Gift Annuity.Gift Bequests and Wills Through The Heritage SocietyGiven the opportunity, most of us would like to feel that we have made a lasting contribution to a better world. We would like to leave a legacy that says: "I was here; my existence was important; I have made a difference." Here is your chance to make one such impact.Planning a Bequest Through Your WillThis is perhaps the oldest and easiest form of philanthropy. Many of our friends continue their lifetime of support by naming ECHN Community Healthcare Foundation in their wills. They enjoy the quiet satisfaction of helping us to continue to provide for the health and welfare of our community and the region for generations to come. A bequest is often the ideal way to memorialize your own life or the life of someone close to you. You may even simply add a codicil to your existing will rather than rewriting the entire document.MembersAnonymousLois BC QueryMrs. Doris BixbySusan & Bill BreslauMr. & Mrs. Robert E.
